Dear Kim, I see that you recently posted the following picture on your Instagram. I don’t actually follow you but the picture was brought to my attention by numerous people.
This squeem is a body shaping garment, and as a result, it is TIGHT (which I’m sure you know). Wearing something so tight can result in your stomach, intestine and colon being compressed.
Did you know that is can worsen acid reflux, heartburn and cause your oesophagus to be irritated, swollen and inflamed?
Do you know what happens when you compress your intestine? You slow down your digestion.
Is it easy to breathe in your squeem? I’m sure its not, because it’s pushing down your abdomen and reducing your breathing movements.
This is a diagram of what “tightlacing” (waist training) does to your internal organs: I find it completely disgusting that you, someone with over 17 MILLION followers (many of them being young girls), would advocate such a practice when it’s been proven to damage and deform internal organs (such as your stomach and liver), affect digestion and bruise ribs.
What kind of a message are you sending out? Would you want your own daughter, North West, to take part in such a practice?
If you want to train your waist, then by all means do it. I’m not going to stop you. But for the sake of the HEALTH and SAFETY of those who don’t know any better, don’t advertise and promote it to your millions of followers.
It’s irresponsible and thoughtless.
Combining your waist training with your well-advertised ‘no carb’ diet means you’re setting the worst possible example for the young and impressionable girls out there. I would have thought that someone in your position would use their fame for a slightly more important cause. I would have thought that you think about the consequences of your actions a little more.
The only thing you’re doing now is helping to shape the world that your young daughter will grow up in.
What kind of world do you want that to be? A world that cares about external appearance more than lifelong health and wellbeing? Because that’s exactly what you’re perpetuating.
Think before you post.
Someone who is trying to make a difference without the millions of followers.
